The education of multipliers, of young people who will teach children and other young people in the future, is of pivotal importance. The possibility to influence the course of the world through this practice and to be able to pass on information to children and young people attains the highest relevance in respect to artistic, ethical, philosophical, practical, political and ecological consequences.
In this sense Art and Practice at the institute for art and education is the basis for the four subjects of the teacher education program and acts in an interdisciplinary manner. The 'better' teachers are always those who have delved deeply into their subject matter and can communicate their own experiences in the field. By supporting free creative expression of the students it is possible for them to establish themselves better at school, in the art world or in new environments – through their personality, their differentiated stance and the artistic practice and knowledge.

By working in a communicative and a context- and site-specific manner the artistic work of the students is communicated and realized. By working on concrete projects the competence in research, analysis, production, artistic technique, material usage and communication are learned and practised.
