Live Performances von Monica Vlad und Felix Schager im Zuge von „METAMORPH:WE“ der Abteilung Mediengestaltung Lehramt. Das einwöchige Pop-Up Labor der Abteilung Mediengestaltung Lehramt feiert das Wochenende im „splace am Hauptplatz“ mit zwei außergewöhnlichen Performances: der Linzer Ausnahme-Künstler Felix Schager aka DEF ILL ist mit einer experimentellen Lecture Performance zu sehen u. anschließend performt die rumänische Multimedia-Künstlerin Monica Vlad ein spezielles audiovisuelles Live-Set! „The physical ImpossibILLity of DEF in the Mind of someone Living“
Lecture Performance – Felix Schager – www.defill.org Edgy Gratwanderungen zwischen Lecture Performance, Rapmusik & Dubnoise. Irgendwo zwischen Tripletime-Rap, Lesung und Poetry Slam. Eine Metamorphose des analogen zum digitalen im Endlosloop der Transformation. Nach dem Motto: Auch Unterhaltungsmusik kann erst sein (und umgekehrt). Thematisiert werden kontroverse Parallelen, Ismen & Industrialisierungsprozesse der Kunstgeschichte & Musikindustrie. St8 out the voidFelix Schager, geb. 1989, seines Zeichens: Performancekünstler, Rap-Politaktivist & Multimedia-Artist mit einem starken Hang zum Found Footage & Sampling. Manchen besser bekannt als Musiker „Def Ill“ aka „Ruffian Rugged“ konnte er bereits internationale Erfolge erzielen – durch ein unkonventionelles Verschmelzen eines Künstlers mit seiner Kunstfigur. „Paradoxal Soundscapes & digital Water“
AV Live-Set – Monica Vlad – www.monicavlad.com The performance follows my research on paradoxal soundscapes in which I combine Noise with a completely different music genre. For this performance I combine Noise and church music, using tape loops and voices.  The sound is completely analog and vintage synths, media archeology „instruments“ are used to create the final composition. The visuals instead are completely digital, real-time sound reactive, following the path of „digital nature“ or „digital water“. Monica Vlad changes the functionality of old media devices and everyday objects to create new sounds for her live performances. She combines the astonishing sound textures and seemingly endless possibilities of the noise genre with sounds from opposite genres such as classical music to create a “paradox soundscape.” Her live performances are different each time, but always intense, dramatic and powerful. Her work has been presented around the world at Ars Electronica, ISEA South Korea, FILE Brazil, TADAEX Iran, Cyberfest Russia, Lab30 Germany, EUROPALIA Biennale and many others.
