Solidarität mit der kolumbianischen Zivilgesellschaft

Seit dem 28. April versammelt sich eine breite Allianz zivilgesellschaftlicher Gruppen (NGOs, Gewerkschaften, Studierende, indígina-VertreterInnen) auf Kolumbiens Straßen um gegen eine geplante Steuerreform zu Ungunsten der sozial Benachteiligten, für die Umsetzung des Friedensvertrags mit den FARC und für die Verbesserung des Zugangs zu Gesundheitsressourcen (z.B. Corona-Impfungen) aufzustehen. Die Proteste wurden seitens der Bundesregierung mit unverhältnismäßiger Polizeigewalt beantwortet, die zu inzwischen 31 Toten und hunderten von Verletzten und Festgenommenen geführt hat. Der Interamerikanische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte und das UNO Hochkommisariat für Menschenrechte haben den Einsatz von Waffen gegen die Protestierenden scharf verurteilt. Besonders aus der Stadt Cali erreichen uns seitens unserer KooperationspartnerInnen Bitten, uns für eine Entmilitarisierung der Situation einzusetzen. Die Kunstuniversität Linz ist aufgrund von Universitätskooperationen und gemeinsamen künstlerischen Projekten mit Kolumbien verbunden. Wir erklären uns deshalb solidarisch mit all jenen, deren demokratisches Recht auf friedliche öffentliche Meinungsäußerung hochgradig bedroht ist und rufen die Regierung Kolumbiens dringend dazu auf, den Einsatz von Gewalt zu beenden.

Solidaridad con la sociedad civil colombiana

Desde el 28 de abril una amplia alianza de grupos de la sociedad civil (ONG, sindicatos, estudiantes, representantes indígenas) se está reuniendo en las calles de Colombia para protestar contra una reforma tributaria prevista en detrimento de los más desfavorecidos, por la aplicación del acuerdo de paz con las FARC y por acceso a los recursos medicales (por ejemplo, las vacunas Corona). Las protestas han sido respondidas con una violencia policial desproporcionada por parte del gobierno federal, que hasta el momento ha resultado en 31 muertos y cientos de heridos y detenidos. La Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos y el Alto Comisionado de la ONU para los Derechos Humanos han condenado enérgicamente el uso de armas contra los manifestantes. Especialmente desde la ciudad de Cali, hemos recibido peticiones de nuestros aliados para trabajar por la desmilitarización de la situación. La Universidad de Arte de Linz mantiene vínculos con Colombia a través de las cooperaciones universitarias y los proyectos artísticos conjuntos. Por lo tanto, declaramos nuestra solidaridad con todos aquellos cuyo derecho democrático a la libertad de expresión pública y pacífica está altamente amenazado y hacemos un llamamiento urgente al gobierno colombiano para que inmediatamente ponga fin al uso de la violencia.

Solidarity with the Colombian Civil Society

Since April 28, a broad alliance of civil society groups (NGOs, unions, students, indígina representatives) have been gathering in Colombia's streets to stand up against a planned tax reform to the detriment of the socially disadvantaged, for the implementation of the peace treaty with the FARC, and for improved access to health resources (e.g. Corona vaccinations). The protests have been met with disproportionate police violence on the part of the federal government, which has up to now resulted in 31 deaths and hundreds of people injured and detained. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights have strongly condemned the use of weapons against the protesters. We have received requests from our cooperation partners, especially from the city of Cali, to help demilitarize the situation. The Linz University of the Arts has ties with Colombia through university cooperation and joint artistic projects. We therefore declare our solidarity with all those whose democratic right to peaceful public expression is highly threatened and urgently call on the Colombian government to immediately end the use of violence.
