The spirit of a super hit song and the energy of a demolition tool are coming together to erase any kind of prejudice, negative difference, wrong opinions.
The students of the KunstUniLinz will be challenging themselves with a Drag Queen/King Race.
Cross dressing is the answer. And also the question. Without walking on the dangerous path of political issues, the Wrecking Ball 2018 wishes to blur lines, to erase borders and destroy stereotypes, like a wrecking ball.
The concept of Prom, the classic American Promotion Ball, which kind of represents the start of the adult life of any student, is revisited for the Wrecking Ball, following the main (and vital!) issues of our contemporary society (#metoo, #timesup, growing nationalisms, racisms, ...)
Dark and light will come together, wishing for the best and for a better “us”.
To elevate our spirits, amazing artists will be invited to perform. The heavenly dark musician Toni Renaissance, the fabulously glittery Queens of the Haus of Rhinoplasty crew and the outrageous Club Fortuna girls will make some noise on the stage especially designed for the Ball by Rika Tadokoro.
