WILL HAVE BEEN. Heinz Frank's apartment

April 9, 2024, 6:30 p.m. Domgasse 1, 2nd floor, room DO2.35 / Aktsaal Malerei

Painting & Graphic Arts invites you to a guest lecture and film presentation by Sasha Pirker.

WILL HAVE BEEN. The apartment of Heinz Frank, 17:30 min, 2022

An interest in and a sense for the enigmatic, the ambiguous, the multifaceted, for surprising views and hidden functions run through the cinematic architectural studies that Sasha Pirker has been producing for around fifteen years. And that pulls you along: Things are not only shown, but literally comprehended. The most recent film is also characterized by its dramaturgical clarity, and will have been functions as a cheerful tour through this apartment, as an insight into an artistic practice and into a daughter-father relationship. For almost seventeen minutes we hear and see, and then we understand something of how everything is connected here. A movie that is self-explanatory in the best sense of the word. (Isabella Reicher)

In addition to the film, a 2-channel video installation will also be shown, which is not only about the apartment, but also about women BEFORE and BEHIND the camera and about the 16mm Bolex camera.

The film was shot in Heinz Frank's apartment in Vienna.
