International Women’s Day 2024

Razieh Kooshki, Interface Cultures Studierende aus dem Iran, nimmt beim Projekt zum Internationalen Frauentag im Ars Electronica Center teil.

With a diverse special program from FRI 8.3. to SUN 10.3.2024, Ars Electronica will provide a stage for international female artists who operate at the boundaries between disciplines.

In the fight for recognition and equal rights, International Women’s Day originated in the period before the First World War. Since then, it has been celebrated annually on March 8. However, 100 years later, women are still underrepresented at the interface between art, technology and society. History has shown that the commitment and public visibility of women can drive progress towards equality and greater justice. The gender gap has narrowed in recent years. Nevertheless, there is still a lot to be done!

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024, the Ars Electronica Center is once again taking part in this public discourse. On FRI 8.3.2024, 19:00, you can look forward to an evening in Deep Space 8K with rousing performances and exciting project presentations by globally active female artists. Admission to the evening program is free. At the weekend, you can visit new exhibition installations by international female artists in the museum.
