Heutzutage verbringen die meisten Menschen ihr Leben online: Wir surfen in sozialen Netzwerken, schauen uns Katzenvideos an und wir betrachten dies als eine Art parallele Aktivität, die nicht als Teil unseres „echten“ Lebens fungiert. Jedoch stellt sich die Frage, ob nicht unsere Gehirne durch ihre Interaktion mit den Sozialen Medien neu verdrahtet wurden und somit die Realität heutzutage nicht verstehen können, ohne genau jene Bilder der sozialen Medien zu Hilfe zu nehmen? In der Tat sind wir so eng mit diesen Bildern verbunden, dass ihre Realität post-produziert erscheint. Auf der anderen Seite stellt sich die Frage, ob bzw. welche neuen Möglichkeiten diese neue kollektive semantische Codierung eröffnet? Könnte es nicht sein, dass Ideen und neue Formen von Kreativität erwachsen und - wie Joseph Beuys prognostizierte - jeder ein Künstler sein kann?
Könnten wir diese scheinbar bedeutungslosen täglichen Aktivitäten für neue kollaborative Erzählungen kreativ nutzen? Könnten wir von diesen kollektiven Produktionen profitieren, um neue bioethische Diskurse zu fördern, oder würde dies eher einen weiteren Schritt in Richtung eines neuen Medienwerdens bedeuten?
Nowadays, most people spend their lives online: We surf social networks, watch cat videos and we consider this as a kind of parallel activity that does not function as part of our „real“ life. However, the question arises whether our brains have not been rewired by their interaction with social media and thus cannot understand reality nowadays without resorting to those very images of social media? Indeed, we are so closely connected to these images that their reality seems post-produced. On the other hand, what new possibilities does this new collective semantic coding open up? Could it not be that ideas and new forms of creativity will emerge and - as Joseph Beuys predicted - everyone can be an artist? Could we creatively use these seemingly meaningless daily activities for new collaborative narratives? Could we benefit from these collective productions to foster new bioethical discourses, or would this rather mean another step towards a new media becoming?
