Emotionen sind ein zentraler Aspekt des menschlichen Daseins.
Sie manifestieren sich oftmals unbewusst in unserer Körpersprache.
In meiner Arbeit schaffe ich eine Art lebendiges Kleidungsstück, das Bewegungen und Körperhaltung der Träger:in in das Textil einschreibt und abformt.
Interaktionen zwischen Textil und Körper spiegeln so Emotionen der Träger:in wider und lassen sie diese bewusster erleben.
Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei das im Textilen Zentrum Haslach gewebte Material aus Tencel und Leinen, das durch seine einzigartige Struktur und Elastizität auf Bewegung reagiert.
Flottierungen und Vierfachgewebe verleihen dem Material eine Struktur, die zur Interaktion einlädt und dem Träger/der Trägerin Geborgenheit vermittelt. Durch den Einsatz von Elastan kehrt das Textil immer wieder in seine Ursprungsform zurück, genauso wie unsere Emotionen ständig in Bewegung sind.
Emotions play a central role in human existence and are oftenreflected in our posture and bodily movements. However, it can be challenging to handle and understand our own emotions in ahealthy way.
In my work I create a kind of living garment that reflects the emotional world of the person through interaction between textile and wearer and raises the communication between person and clothing to a new, deeper level. This should help us to experienceemotions more consciously and thereby gain a broader understanding of ourselves and the people around us.
The focus is on the material woven at the Textile Centre Haslach,which reacts to movement through its unique structure and elasticity and thus draws attention to your own emotions. The fabric takes on a character of its own due to its materiality oftencel or linen. Floats and quadruple weaves give the material astructure that invites interaction and can convey a sense of security to the wearer. In addition, the use of elastane shows thatemotions do not have to be permanent, as the textile always returns to its original form.
My goal is to create an empathetic connection between the wearerand the piece of clothing, which allows for a deeper engagement with one‘s own emotions.“
