Projektpräsentation der Lehrveranstaltung Projekt BE "Art and Politics" unter der Leitung von Dr. Mika Cho, Gastprofessorin, California State University, L.A. Dr. Mika Cho: "Arts, in various kinds, inspire, provoke, thrill, sometimes offend us, often the same work of art attracts both acclaim and condemnation. Art Education students in this course (Art and Politics, BE Project) at the Kunst University created the works, presented in this exhibition. They explored aesthetical, social, cultural, political, and ecological issues in creating art that may engage and affect changes of other lives. The course was attempted to provide context that promotes understanding of the evolution of concepts in art. The focus of the course was on the impact of visual representation on the culture, art as history, philosophy, politics and psychology, and as a way of seeing and understanding the world at large. Individual student developed one’s own informed idea with articulating, manipulating, and digesting information through contextual analysis and from diverse perspectives. Students shared the idea of art is a means of nurturing the self-fulfilling aspects of the development of personal attitudes and habits beyond artistic creativity."
